ABOUT KARA:

Kara Katmouz is a compassionate and devoted clinician known for her sweet, warm demeanor and

 effortless ability to hold a safe, grounding space for individuals navigating complex mental health

 challenges. With a natural gift for creating genuine connection, Kara meets clients exactly where

 they are—fostering an atmosphere of emotional safety, trust, and gentle support.

Her extensive career spans both community mental health organizations and the public school

 system, giving her deep experience supporting individuals across all age groups, from young

 children to adults and high school students. While Kara is fully skilled in supporting clients of all

 ages and life stages, her primary clinical passion lies in working with elementary school-aged

 children. She brings an insightful, developmentally tailored approach to helping young minds build

 emotional resilience, navigate life transitions, and flourish. At Red Sands Therapy Inc., Kara

 combines her gentle therapeutic style with specialized clinical tools to offer top-tier support for

 children, youth, and families across Prince Edward Island.

• Clinical & Community Experience:

  • School Counsellor & Guidance Specialist: Currently serving at Amherst Cove Consolidated School in Borden-Carleton (transitioned ahead of the 2026 school year from Queen Elizabeth Elementary School).

  • Educational System Expertise: Has served as a school counsellor across multiple educational levels, including high schools and various elementary schools throughout PEI.

  • Clinical Social Work & Healthcare: Registered Clinical Social Worker with experience serving under Health PEI.

  • Outreach & Special Programming: Previously worked as a Regional Outreach Coordinator and Guidance Counsellor for alternate schools in Western PEI.
